Six of our eight does will be first fresheners this season. Three of them are proven crosses, each having at least one freshened full sister that has (or had) been retained by their breeders; Dawnland, Rosasharn, and Castle Rock Farm. I feel my high expectations for these girls are justified and I can't wait to see what those udders are like!
I am hoping to get a buckling by Royal Rebel out of Rosehip or Sea Star, as he is getting up there in years. I love everything about Vervain (Roy x Rosehip) and, pending what her udder looks like, would be happy with an entire herd of her. Normally I would not offer bucklings for sale out of first fresheners, but may make an exception with Sea Star and Moonie (depending on their udders and the kid's conformation) if the sire is Roy.
We are keeping our fingers crossed that ADGA finds a way to safely resume Linear Appraisal in 2021 and that we can participate. Linear is something we hope to be able to do every year.
