ABOUT INK
Ink is primarily linebred on three individuals: Rosasharn BB Son Of Honey ++*B VEV 87 (02-05), SG Rosasharn P Haiku 4*M VEEE 91, and SG Rosasharn H B Kujira 4*M EEEE 91.
Ink's dam, Holly, appraised VEVV 87 as a 2-year-old first freshener and is currently in the 92nd percentile for milk production. With her paternal granddam being Kujira, that's not too surprising. Kujira ended her long and productive milking career at 13-years-old in the 95th percentile with a PTA of 109 and an average predicted milk volume of 1685lbs per lactation! Holly's breeder, Anne Petersen, says she has high expectations for Holly.
Holly's dam, Noelle, appraised EVVE 90 as a 5-year-old with an E in rump, a 35 in rump angle, and a 28 in rump width (note she's a 20 in stature). She is a beautiful doe overall - long, stretchy, uphill, and dairy with a great udder. Noelle's sire, Rosasharn SH Celtic Ballad ++*B VEE 90, has produced many kids in the Rosasharn herd over the years. Ballad is the full sibling to SG Rosasharn SH Sonnet 5*M VEEE 91, who you can read more about in the next paragraph.
Sonnet, Ink's paternal granddam, is also a prolific milker, currently in the 96th percentile for milk production. Sonnet is a powerful doe with outstanding rear lateral attachments, rear udder height, and a smoothly blended fore udder. She has two daughters on milk test -- Rosasharn BCL Haiku 2 and Rosasharn MM Lymric. Haiku 2 is currently in the 89th percentile for milk production with an average predicted volume of 1043 lbs per lactation. Lymric is in the 98th percentile with an average of 1469 lbs and a PTA of 99.
I am hoping Ink will pass on the strong udder attachments, plumbness, and productivity of his female relatives while complementing the overall correctness that already exists in my foundation stock.
