Old Province Miniature Dairy Goats
The Girls
Our doe herd is comprised of Nigerian Dwarf Goats, Alpines, and Miniature Alpines. All of our goats are registered. We are members of the following registries: the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA), the American Goat Society (AGS), the Miniature Dairy Goat Association (MDGA), and The Miniature Goat Registry (TMGR).
Both senior and junior does can be found on this page. They are ordered by breed and then by age from oldest to youngest. Click the button below each doe's pedigree to view her individual page.
Nigerian Dwarf Does
What makes Nigerians great?
BUTTERFAT AND PROTEIN CONTENT
PRODUCTION - what can expect from a nigerian dwarf (what we expect and select for with Nigerians and all our goats)
SIZE - our does are about 75-80lbs full grown. Height requirement for does is 22.5 inches? at withers. (I don't find that they are more economical per se than large breed goat (they eat the same amount of forage and grain per pound of goat from my calculations), but you can fit more of them in any given space which is excellent for the goat hoarding addiction all Nigerian Breeders suffer from. If u r a cheese maker then yes they would be more economical bc getting more solids from same volume of milk.

Alpine Does
WHAT MAKES ALPINES GREAT
BREED HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE.. A LOT FARTHER ALONG IN BREED THAN NDG, see that in consistency of type, especially from long time breeders.
PRODUCTION - what can expect from alpine, extended lactation highly important to us, once daily milking and why alpine works well for us.
